The Hawick squad contesting the Gala Sevens yesterday gave a good account of themselves in the pool stages, as late withdrawals meant that Hawick & Melrose had to play twice in their pool, with the aggregate score deciding which team would progress. After a very keen and hard fought contest that went down to the wire, the Greens triumphed 41-38.
In their semi-final however, Hawick were unable to overcome a very slick Edinburgh Accies side who after a tightly contested first half, ran out winners by 36-12, before they themselves fell to the host side Gala on the final 19-14. 🏉💚
