After what has been a truly memorable season for Hawick RFC, both on and off the field, the club are now gearing up for a very special anniversary in 2023/24 as we look to celebrate and commemorate 150 years of Hawick Rugby in style.
Following our inspired young Greens squad, completing the League and Cup double this season, under the watchful eye of our talented coaching team, the club together with our committee are putting together a fantastic program of events throughout next season for our members, supporters and the wider community to enjoy.
In order to help organise everything, whilst keeping the squad and coaches focused on the rugby, the club is always looking for willing volunteers to step up and join us in being part of what is happening at Mansfield Park.
Although we are always very happy to welcome new full committee members, we do realise that joining a club committee is a commitment which is not for everyone. For this reason, we would like to appeal to those who are perhaps interested in becoming involved, and lending their knowledge and particular skills, but who perhaps don’t have the time necessary to commit to the full committee.
Over the past few seasons, the club have set up several sub-groups, each managed by a committee members, focusing on a particular areas of the club, each of which is crucial to the overall success of Hawick RFC.
This allows those volunteers with an interest or expertise in a particular area, to become involved with the club, and give what time and experience they have to benefit HRFC.
Joining one of our sub groups will give you an active involvement in the club and an up-close and first hand view of what is required to make a successful club both on and off the pitch.
The sub-group areas where we would always welcome willing volunteers with fresh eyes and ideas are:-
Hospitality : (helping with the organisation and management of hospitality events the club arranges on match-days and special occasions).
Sponsorship : (help to develop and manage our company & personal sponsors portfolio. Develop new sponsors and ways to promote the club as an positive sponsorship opportunity).
Festival of Rugby Sevens : (helping to develop ideas to maximise the potential of our annual Festival of Rugby Sevens. Work to organise the on and off field events, the tournaments, Ladies Day, Hospitality luncheon ,catering etc.)
Club Shop : (Assist with the management, running and promotion of the club shop, liaise with suppliers and work with customers. The shop opens on home match days for approximately an hour both before and after the game).
Should you feel you have something to give, and can spare the time, we would be very happy to hear from you. Please contact Vice President Malcolm Grant, either by email on mal61grant@gmail.com or call on 07880 701564.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of all clubs, and if you are able to assist in any way, HRFC would be very grateful. Any contribution you can make will have a positive impact on the club and our Hawick community, and ultimately it will contribute to the potential success of the Greens, and the Force, as we have witnessed this season.
Thank you
Malcolm
