I hope everyone has had a very enjoyable Christmas with family and friends.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our players, coaches, committee, medical team, members, supporters, sponsors, Lindsey, Debbie and helpers, a safe and prosperous New Year.
As we approach 2022 having faced a further challenging year caught in the persistent grip of Covid we must remain positive and optimistic for the year ahead.
The first part of the rugby season has been very encouraging with both teams playing some outstanding rugby with results regularly in our favour. We are fortunate to have a lot of young talent emerging backed up by a few older heads so the future is bright.
The coaching staff have made great sacrifices as have the medical team and l thank them for their continuing efforts.
When rugby resumes, hopefully on January 8th at Glasgow Hawks, l am confident we can continue our recent form and make one of the play-off spots, preferably with a home tie at Mansfield in March as the reward.
I would like to congratulate our newest Life Member Henry Douglas in joining a very special group. This is a richly deserved honour for his dedication and service to Hawick RFC over many years.
Also our groundsman Davie Cranston deserves a mention. He is one of the unsung heroes of our club. His attention to detail is remarkable and the work he did to get the Marr game on during the floods was beyond the call of duty. Thank you, Davie.
On behalf of Hawick RFC l would like to wish you all a Happy and healthy New Year.
